Last week, our team won the Digital Innovation in Health, Safety and Wellbeing Award at the Digital Construction Awards. This was alongside our valued customer Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture and supply chain partner Safety Shield. This award recognises our research and development endeavors in creating an innovative Autobraking solution for our Bell Equipment UK Dumptrucks and more, and receiving this accolade is a true testament to our commitment to becoming digital by default and fostering a safety first mindset.
Our industry is in an era of digital transformation and it's so exciting to see new and innovative technology being widely adopted across the sector. We are seeing a significant acceleration in the research and development of new digital methods and we need to tackle the safety issues of people plant interface that remain one of the top fatal risks within the construction industry, as reported by the HSE. At Lynch, we prioritise close collaboration with our customers and supply chain, embracing a digital mindset to drive innovation and transform our on-site operations. This enables us to minimise fuel consumption and emissions while enhancing safety and the interaction between people and plant.
John Marley, Senior Works Superintendent at SCS JV commented that "a lot of work went into this collaboration in a short space of time, and it has been amazing to win. We are proud of this award, of everyone involved and it's really rewarding for the whole industry."
It is an honour to receive this award and we're excited to see just how far this technology will go!
