Lynch has secured a 3,5 acre freehold site located just outside Inverness. This new super-depot will be established to support major infrastructure projects in Scotland, focusing on power & transmission, port regeneration, highways and renewable energy initiatives.
As part of its expansion into Scotland, Lynch has appointed John Main as Director of Scotland to oversee these efforts. Lynch are operational in Scotland, with coverage spanning from Fair Isle in the north, to windfarms in central and southwest Scotland, and as far east as Aberdeen, supplying operated and self-drive plant hire to customers regionally.
Operated plant hire continues to be a key focus for Lynch, who are actively working to address challenges in this area. Lynch's experienced and dedicated recruitment team is collaborating with existing operators, introducing new referral schemes, and conducting community outreach to build a strong database.
Additionally, Lynch is committed to supporting the local workforce, both new entrants and upskilling already competent operators through their nationwide, award-winning training school. This is a joint collaborative effort to support skills in Scotland with Tier 1's and regional training partners, building a competent and strong workforce while leaving a lasting legacy in these areas.
This initiative is part of Lynch's broader national expansion plans, forming part of their commitment to providing true nationwide coverage to our customers. New depot locations have also been established in Bradford, and Carlisle, strategically positioned to assist major projects in these areas.
Liam Lynch, Founder and Chairman, recently visited the new depot site alongside John Main and commented, 'Our Scottish expansion hasn't been an overnight decision; it's come from years of building, learning, and planning. We've had the long-term vision for Scotland, and the team we have now have turned the vision into reality with their passion, energy and focus.'
Eibhlin Barrett, Sales & Marketing Director, noted, "When we were deciding on our newest depot locations, we wanted to make sure that we were really going to be delivering the very best service to our customers, and that this service level will only increase as we grow. We know that Scotland is experiencing significant growth and many of our customers need a comprehensive plant solution for their major projects here.
Investing in a permanent base in the Highlands made perfect sense.
John Main, Scotland Director, added, 'The scale and ambition of Scotland's pipeline and transformative growth is clear, and this is a fantastic opportunity to support this real progress in Scottish infrastructure.
As well as helping our customers, we're proud to be working with local companies and suppliers to help us deliver. We want to make sure that this is mutually beneficial, and so supporting established SME's and contributing to the local economy is incredibly important to Lynch. We're excited to build the future, together.'
