Stephen Bremner has worked at L Lynch Plant Hire and Haulage since 2014 where he has been appointed to the position of Fleet and H&S Director. Steve has been identified as someone that has made and continues to recognise the importance of supporting ex-armed forces. Helping to bridge the gap for them to get back into work as well as supporting ex-military on their journey to settling into civilian life.

Steve has a passion for mental health within the construction industry, he has become a delegated Mental Health First Aider. This dedication and continued effort have placed him in good stead to support his colleagues across the company in addition to his employees within his fleet and transport team.

Since Steve started at Lynch the drive for Ex-Military employees has doubled with events and charity engagements expanding, we asked Steve why he pioneered the military background and he said:

Ex-Forces have the same behaviours and ideologies embedded into them that Lynch breathes. A passion and dedication to what they do, working as a team, attention to detail and high standards. There is a strong aspect of trust within these individuals. This leads to a strong workforce

Engagement with the workforce has been a key in achieving Steve’s goals for the business. He has contributed to achieving the bronze award in the Armed Forces Covenant. He has also gone the extra mile in co-hosting and presenting at events with CPT as well as Build Force. Build Force maps out tailored career places with employment, education, and mental health programmes as well as job fairs to assist ex-military in being placed in a job in the construction industry.
