Building our communities, engaging with young people and shaping careers is essential to Lynch and so we were delighted to participate in a Careers Fair held at Queensmead School in West Ruislip, London. Members of the Lynch Team from various departments, Ben Sharp, Emery Roosburg, Kara Lee and Shelby Thomas, with the support of Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture (SCS JV) and Clancy, teamed up to talk to students about a career in construction.
We explored the possibilities and opportunities available in our industry, and we were able to spark students' interest in all the exciting technological advances that are happening right now. It was a good chance for students to learn how they could apply their skills and excel in an industry they may not have previously considered.
The careers fair was a great chance for the students to learn how they can apply their skills and explore their interests in a career in construction. It was refreshing to learn what areas the pupils are interested in, namely digitalisation, machine learning, data, sustainability and BIM. Additionally, there was a big interest in the future of plant operation and the new technological advances which allow the operators to be in one place but operate a machine thousands of miles away. This was a great opportunity to explore the future of the industry with the next generation of talent.

Thank you to SCS JV for inviting us to take part.
